Lela and Ginger

Lela Owens married William Eddins McMath. 

Virginia McMath (Ginger Rogers)was born July 16, 1911

Lela used the name Lela Leibrand as a scriptwriter and while she was in the marines.

She later married John Rogers and took his name.

Ginger used Rogers as her last name even though she was not adopted by John.

Lela Owens went by the name Lela Liebrand while in the Marine Corps and while working as a scriptwriter in Hollywood. It looks like she wrote this story.
